In Mani around 1900... In a place and a time where the power and "property" of every family is the male children, a powerful family decides to marry off their son, against the norm, to a girl of a lower class. When the years pass and she is unable to bear children, the unwritten law of Mesa Mani imposes a second wife, a mistress, within the same house, who soon gives birth to the coveted boy. However, things do not turn out as everyone expected.
